Affirmations to Accept Yourself
You may have been in a relationship which started off well, but suddenly took a bad turn and you wanted to stop dating.
It’s called the Boom-Bust Cycle.
At first, everything appears to be perfect. Both of you are swept away in a whirlwind infatuation. You make plans for the future, and believe that you have finally found the right person. You’re on an emotional high and invest all your energy and passion into this relationship.
It can be a disappointment when the other person begins to pull away, or disappears completely.
You may feel anxious and uncertain during these moments. What went wrong? You wonder, wait, and worry. Such experiences can leave you with a bruised emotional feeling. These micro-rejections can wear you down and make you doubt yourself over time.
You may even stop dating. You may even begin to think that you are unworthy of love, and that you must change yourself to be happy. You may start to wonder if it’s you who is at fault.
You may decide to stop dating if the Boom & Bust Cycle persists. If you decide to go on a first date, you will approach it so cautiously that your date may not see you as you are.
You can use this tool to avoid the boom-bust cycle.
This is how many women deal with rejection, but this only drives them further from the love that they long for.
I’d like to share with you a revelation which changed my life, and that of my clients. It’s not necessary to take the actions of a man personally when he withdraws.
My client’s view has been transformed by this realization. They have learned to stop attaching emotions to each date. They have learned to stop blaming their own mistakes when things do not work out. They could admit that even when they were ghosted it was not about them.
I began to embrace my own self-confidence and strength, not allowing small rejections to shake my foundation.
Here’s some Love Homework to help you. It includes affirmations that will make you more accepting of yourself.
- Write this affirmation in your journal and add your thoughts and feelings to it: I DESERVE UNCONDITIONAL APPRECIATION AND LOVE. When I am rejected, it is not me, but them.
- Self-acceptance is a powerful tool. You don’t have to reject yourself just because someone rejects you. Quiet your inner critic. List your achievements and strengths. Give yourself a date, and accept yourself radically.
